Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as washing the church vehicles, to preparing the church bulletins.

LIVING Ministry

The River New Heights partners with L.I.V.IN.G. Ministry in Pittsburgh, a street outreach in Pittsburgh whose vision is uncovering the hope found in Jesus Christ so that hearts would be transformed and no one would feel homeless. To learn more about L.I.V.I.N.G Ministry, click here

Worship Ministry

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music and drama ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved behind the scenes. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. Audios of our weekly sermons are recorded and uploaded to our website weekly. We also maintain an active Facebook and Twitter feed for additional church communication.

Hospitality & Greeting

At The River New Heights, we want everyone who walks through the door to feel at home.  Our Hospitality & Greeting Ministry ensures that everyone is welcomed and provided hot coffee and fresh pastries.  They are available to answer questions and serve our guests and church family on Sunday mornings.  To get involved, contact Catherine Johnson at

Kids Ministry

Each Sunday morning, children get to participate in their own classes. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. The kids ministry of our church is recognized for their meaningful interaction with kids. Contact Jody for more details at

Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Our Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, after the morning service, we are invited to stay and pray for our church, community and world. Throughout the week, we continue to lift each other up in prayer through our email prayer chain.  If you would like to participate in the prayer chain, send an email to

Grounds Ministry

The River New Heights is blessed to have a beautiful, modern building to home our church.  Ken Helsel and our grounds team work hard to maintain the building we have been entrusted with.  If you enjoy spending time outdoors and would like to make a difference at The River, contact Ken at
